Separate Property - Property that a spouse owned before marriage or acquired during marriage through an inheritance or by gift from a third party, or property acquired during marriage but after the spouses have entered into a separation agreement.

Vested Benefits - The portion of a participant's accrued benefits that are not subject to forfeiture. Vesting is based on a participant's years of service under a qualified pension plan.
